They were once smaller, rapidly growing companies. They need to think like Apple or Google or Microsoft. They need to think like a smaller, hungry, entrepreneurial company. If success goes to the hungry, why have Verizon and AT&T not shown hunger for growth.īoth Verizon and AT&T need to pull a T-Mobile-like act out of the hat. Something they have not been in a long time. Verizon and AT&T both could learn something from T-Mobile. The two leaders in wireless for decades are seeing their industry leadership slipping through their fingers. Verizon and AT&T are struggling while T-Mobile is showing growth They have tried many strategies with different leaders, yet they have not yet shown success and rapid growth. They turned things around and they are a leader today. In my opinion, at that time T-Mobile was at the brink of becoming irrelevant in the wireless industry. I think Verizon can learn a thing or two from T-Mobile, who was crashing and burning a decade ago as well.Īt the brink, T-Mobile changed and started growth once again Something they have tried several times over the past decade or so, but they keep missing the target. Verizon needs to create their next growth wave. However, I don’t see rapid, healthy, sustainable growth. They are still an important slice of the United States telecommunications pie. Verizon has struggled for a while and has not seen real, powerful, sustainable, exciting growth in quite a long time.ĭon’t get me wrong. Verizon should take a lesson from T-Mobile on restarting growth engine The smartphone maker Blackberry, who once led, ultimately stalled when the iPhone and Android hit the marketplace. Motorola was a leader for decades until they crested and have never really recovered. Apple is riding a long growth-wave with the iPhone. There are many examples of companies who are still riding their growth wave and others who have failed. That’s why companies need to create the next growth-wave before the one they are riding fades. How companies ride the growth wave up, until it ultimately crests then falls. Verizon needs to find their next growth-wave The question being asked is when, if ever, will Verizon finally break out? While I like Verizon and their place in the wireless and telecom industry, they have not shown impressive growth or dominance in quite a long time. Vestberg will replace her until someone else is found. That being said, Manon Brouillette who ran consumer was just asked to leave. Through the past year, Vestberg created an entirely new leadership team. Under CEO Lowell McAdam, Verizon struggled and even today, while it looks like new CEO Hans Vestberg is showing some progress, the company is still not on a healthy growth track.

Since that point they have struggled to find a new path to growth. Years ago, they were on a growth track under CEO Ivan Seidenberg until he retired. However, during the past decade, not so much. Any help would be great.Verizon has always been one of the United States premier telecommunications providers. I never had this issue when I was using the phone I gave him, and I am still able to iMessage everyone but him on my phone so I don't think the issue is my new 5s. I don't think it's anything with his plan because hes able to send iMessages, and has unlimited data. I also had the SIM updated by T-Mobile last night when we did the swap and I am clueless as to what the issue might be. I even tried to do it on my phone to see if my phone just wasn't recogisning his number as an iPhone because he was previously on Android. Done the factory reset a few times as well as toggle the iMessage feature on and off. I've tried this on both cellular and Wifi networks. The weird this is that he is able to SEND them and also facetime without issue. He's on T-Mobile and everything seems to be working other than I am not able to send him iMessages, and it doesn't seem like he is able to receive iMessages from anyone else with a known iPhone either. I know it's worked fine unlocked because I've used it when I go to England on OrangeMobile network without issue. I just upgraded to the 5s and gave my BF my ATT unlocked iPhone4.
